Weekday Visits

To experience the personal atmosphere of Shorter, we encourage you to visit our campus. Whether you visit during the fall foliage months or during the spectacular spring dotted with azaleas, dogwoods and magnolias, you'll always experience the individual attention that is part of Shorter's reputation.

While on campus you may wish to meet with an admissions representative, sit in on a class, or meet with a professor. We'll be glad to make those arrangements for you. To schedule a campus tour and interview Monday through Friday, please call (800) 868-6980 ext. 7319 or (706) 233-7319 to make an appointment. Calling in advance will assure you that someone in the admissions office will be available to discuss your concerns.

Hand picked student leaders will conduct comprehensive walking tours of the campus and give you a student perspective of life at Shorter. A tour and interview will last approximately one and-a-half hours. If you are scheduled to meet with a professor, please allow an extra 15-30 minutes.

Admissions representatives will be in the Welcome Center for consultation at 3:00 pm

*The campus bookstore will be open from 9-2pm in the Fitton Student Union to purchase Shorter paraphernalia.

Directions to Shorter

From Atlanta:

1.) Take I-75 North.
2.) Exit 290. Turn left and follow signs for Hwy 411 and Hwy 20 West.
3.) At Rome exit (approximately 30 miles from the I-75 exit) follow Hwy 20 West (also known as Turner-McCall Blvd and Shorter Avenue.)
4.) Continue straight on Hwy 20 West for approximately 5 miles. Shorter University is located ½ miles past Floyd Medical Center, on the left.

From Chattanooga:
1.) Take I-75 South.
2.) Exit 312 and follow signs for Hwy 53 South to Rome.
3.) Turn right onto Hwy 20 West (also known as Turner-McCall Blvd and Shorter Avenue.)
4.) Continue straight on Hwy 20 West for 2 miles. Shorter University is located ½ mile past Floyd Medical Center, on the left. Once arriving at Shorter University, please make your way to the Eubanks Welcome Center, where you Admissions Representative will be glad to meet with you. (See #5 on the campus map.)
