Shorter’s Brown Takes Home High Jump National Title

Montagious Brown has another reason to celebrate this week, other than his men's basketball victory over Berry; he can now call himself a National Champion. Brown jumped for six feet, 10.75 inches in the high jump on Friday afternoon to take home first in the Indoor National Championship at East Tennessee State University.

Brown, who also was named to the All-Freshmen team for Shorter basketball, left immediately after taking the title to travel to Lee University for the SSAC tournament.

"Montagious is one of the finest athletes I've ever coached," said head track coach Scott Byrd. "He is the kind of person who can do anything he puts his mind to; this title goes to prove that. This is a big day for Shorter and for our track team."
